Absolutely not!! I know that is not the answer you expected, but hear me out!

The path of hard work can lead to success, i.e., you are more likely to succeed if you work hard, but is it guaranteed? Moreover, you may even succeed without it. So why does such a notion exist?

I started to think about this when I went through a phase where I felt worthless, lost, and unsure of my future because I was not rewarded for my hard work. Sounds lame? Well, think about it. Don’t we all have that inherent belief in us, the…

Who is a professional? What is the clear cut definition? Is dressing up in expensive suits, wearing expensive watches and colognes the mark of a professional? Does being a ‘Yes man’ and shying away from criticizing make you a professional?

Lets first talk about the attitude of a professional. The corporate world dictates using any means necessary to find glory as a sign of professionalism. The worst part is, every talk and meeting start with these lines, “now please be open and forthcoming, we are here to understand your problems, so speak out without any fear”, so cliche! And what…

I have always pondered over why some people are racists. Why do we body shame others? Are those feelings embedded in us? Or is it something we are taught?

Does it have to do with our perception or to be precise, society’s perception? Let’s take an example of two children, both of them drew an apple. One was perfectly shaped and red, whereas the other one was irregular and dull. Which kid would you congratulate, which drawing looked like a real apple? Obviously the one who drew the perfect apple. Why is that? Are all apples perfect and red?

Let…

As I am writing this, I feel so relieved, relaxed, light as a feather, as if I was carrying around something ghastly on my shoulders all this time. The memories, the awful ones; the regrets, the traumas and the misunderstandings. All of which I so stubbornly held on to, as they eat away my sanity and my soul. Surprisingly and ironically, it was another memory which helped me defeat all of them—a book, gifted to me by someone special on my birthday two years ago.

But having said all of this, is it really that easy to let go of…

Before examining the why; let’s elaborate on the what. What is feminism? It is the movement to ascertain the equality of the sexes. Because the world is unbalanced, it is also a fight to give women equal rights and to dissolve the most basic and crude segregation of ‘men’. Did you find anything wrong in that statement?

It is a common practice to use man as a reference to human beings as a species. Would you use ‘woman’ for that? Finding it silly? Let’s look at two phrases which can exemplify the inherent mindset I am talking about. ‘She/he is…

Am I the only one who was punished for lying as a kid by their parents? I don’t think so. My tongue used to feel numb when I say a lie and I used to regret it the instant. Good kids don’t lie! well, at least that’s what I was taught. Growing up, I was told that good karma always does good to you in the long run. Honestly speaking am yet to experience the goodness of it! Cheating, lying, all these words now represent smartness! And smart people get ahead in life!

From my own personal experience, I think…

With the onslaught of the digital era, many businesses have crumbled, commerce being one of them. I did not find anything wrong; that is how innovation happens. Now coming back to e-commerce, as much as it has made our life convenient and much cheaper, a downside is slowly emerging. Customer support!

Personally, apart from Amazon, I have found the customer support to be horrific for the purchases online. My two recent experiences with a particular laptop brand and the mobile brand were so frustrating. The industry has found ways to reduce their overhead by bringing in bots to automate customer…

All significant innovations by man have caused dramatic changes to the job market. But did it lead to a job crisis, no they did not? To substantiate the statement, let us take the example of computers in India. When computers became mainstream, there was outcry all over the country. Political parties conducted rallies, smashed computers, burned them, and whatnot. Computers were portrayed as a tool for the capitalists to take over. But what has happened? Yes, many jobs have disappeared, but now India is on the path to becoming a global IT superpower. …
